Each product has a different drying time. Applying paint during the rainy season is quite risky. If the application goes ahead and the rain gets heavier, and does not give it time to dry, you will face problems. Hence, we recommend customer to observe the weather conditions before painting.
Allocate 45 days of complete dry time for exterior walls and 3 - 6 months for interior walls.
Curing time is the time it takes for the wall to sit and dry completely. This is due to the fact that the paint will not react with the chemical compounds present in the cement.
Most wall paints from Asian Paints can be cleaned, when compared to other brands. Common spots, such as pencil marks, can be easily cleaned. However, if you find spots that are difficult to clean, you can try using detergent sparingly.
All paint stains should be removed immediately. Use a cloth to clean each room after the painting is complete. For enamel paint, you can use thinner to clean. You can also use turpentine liquid to clean floor stains.
Yes, if the furniture is coated with Wood Finish, it will make it more difficult for termites to damage the wood surface.
If the paint package has never been opened, the paint will last for 3 years from the date of manufacture. If it has been opened, we recommend using the product within 24 hours.
Acrylic is a water-based product, which has high-density particles that will give perfect results on your walls.
Emulsion is an acrylic-based paint, which means it is water-based. It is available for interior as well as exterior walls.
All emulsion paints provide a smooth and soft finish. They have good color and are durable. Premium paints provide additional features such as; easier to wash, stain resistant, and long lasting. Some premium paints also provide specific features, such as water beading, etc.
Water-based paints can be dissolved with water, while oil-based paints are dissolved with oils such as turpentine liquid (Mineral Turpentine Oil). Emulsion is a water-based paint while enamel is an oil-based paint. Emulsion looks better on walls and is suitable for drawing rooms. Oil-based paints are more suitable for kitchens and bathrooms as they are water-repellent. Enamel can be applied to wood and metal surfaces.
The primer and putty/plaster are applied as a base coat of paint before the paint finish is applied. Before you have to sand the entire surface with sandpaper. Putty/plaster is a kind of paste for application on the wall to fill holes and level the wall surface. Putty is absorbent, one coat of paint directly over the putty/plaster will cause uneven painting results. One coat of primer on top of the putty/plastered surface is a must. This will eliminate any unevenness caused by the putty/plaster and give you a perfect paint finish. So you get protection and a good finish.
Primer is the initial layer in painting, which is applied before the application of paint. This is to ensure that the paint has good adhesion to the surface, increase the durability of the paint, and increase the safety of the applied surface. Primers can seal the pores of the wall well. If appropriate, the primer will increase the durability of the wall paint and improve the final appearance of the wall paint.
Procedure before painting the interior wall:
1) Check the surface to be painted for moisture and water leaks.
2) Repair water leaks at the source. This can be done by repairing pipes or cracks in the exterior wall
3) Loose cement plaster must be removed from the wall. Knock on the wall by hand, so there is an echoing sound then it is the cement plaster coming off.
4) Damaged and cracked cement plaster should be repaired immediately.
Tips: When painting there are some things to keep in mind
1) To save money, buy paint in large packages.
2) Mix and stir the paint evenly before use.
3) Fix the main problem of leakage cracks before the painting process.
4) Make sure the paint is purchased from an authorized dealer.
5) If you are using thinners, primers, and other paint base coats, make sure they are of good quality.
6) Always remove any remaining paint that has failed with the recommended thinner if it is still wet.
Things to be noted during painting process:
1) Do not use cotton cloth for cleaning, use soft synthetic cloth. Otherwise, threads will stick to the surface causing uneven paint surface.
2) Do not apply the next coat of paint without the previous coat being completely dry first. Otherwise, you will have wrinkles, uneven finish and will not be shiny.
3) Do not sand too vigorously, otherwise there will be scratches, roughness and not bright. 4) Do not apply the paint too thickly, otherwise it will cause a hard finish, resulting in slow drying time.
We recommend not to apply paint directly over the putty/primer surface, otherwise it will cause an uneven finish. Always apply primer after putty/primer and then wall paint.
Yes, all our products do not contain lead
Lime wash is a poor quality paint substitute. The finish is poor, not washable and not durable. There are no color options either. Lime wash can stick to hands/clothes very easily from the wall.
In addition to wall paint, we also have paint products for wood, iron and paint for motor vehicles. There are many color variations to choose from.
Tractor Emulsion, Value Super Emulsion, Apex Shyne and all enamel paints from Asian Paints are washable. The finish is satisfactory for walls and is very easy to clean from dirt.
It is not the best idea to mix paints to get the desired color. You will not get the same color from one wall to another and the finish will be uneven. So, it would be better to use the available color shades. The available colors are standardized for the whole package. Asian Paints allows you to choose from a variety of different color shades.
You can dust the wall from time to time. Remove stains with a sponge and soapy liquid while still wet. Do not apply too much pressure to the paint while cleaning.
The duration of painting depends on the number of rooms to be painted and the number of painters working. Drying time for emulsion paints is a minimum of 4 hours, 6 - 8 hours is recommended. Enamel and priming paints require 8 - 10 hours.
Paint will not attract insects. Usually there are insects in the spout because of the presence of food. Since most paints are wipeable, it is easy to keep the walls clean. However, it is highly recommended to do regular pest control in your home.
Your house will have a slight odor but there is no need to leave it. Keep the windows open and the paint odor will soon dissipate.
Depending on the condition of the wall and the wall color of the previous paint, apply 2 to 3 coats.
A good paint with the right application can last for 5 to 6 years.
The duration of painting depends on the number of your rooms to be painted and the number of painters. Interior walls will take about 10 to 15 days, and exterior walls will take 15 days.
We regret to inform you that we do not have paints with the feature of adding cold effects.
Complete dry time (curing) for exterior surfaces is 30 days from the time the plaster is finished (depending on lighting and weather conditions).
Allow 45 days of complete drying time for exterior walls and 3 - 6 months for interior walls.
The curing time required for re-plastered walls is 7-14 days (for plaster thickness of 7-10 millimeters).
Use PH paper (Range 8-14). A good PH of a plastered wall is less than 12.
No, we do not produce such products.
The paint composition for all paint products is strictly confidential. We regret to inform you that we cannot share this with anyone. However, the basic ingredients of this paint can be found on Google.
No, we do not produce such products.
No, we do not produce such products.
We do not manufacture paints that can be used as projector screens. However, you can use exterior paints, such as Apex Shyne (white), APEX Ultima (white) after smoothing the surface with exterior putty/plaster so that it can be used as a projector screen.
In newly built walls, the alkali level needs to be checked with PH paper before painting. The PH level should be below 12. If the PH level is high, curing time is required. You can follow the painting process recommendations listed on our website.
All paint products are water-based paints and do not contain lead. All Asian Paints paint products do not contain lead.
Currently, we do not have products for use on WPC or PVC. Existing Wood Finisihes products will also not stick to these surfaces because the surface is too smooth.
As of now, there is no online payment option. And we do not send paint directly to consumers. For purchases can be made at our official sales store
Kerosene oil is made from aliphatic hydrocarbons that are moistened. It has little to no odor. The boiling point is between 150-300 degrees Celsius. Turpentine Mineral Oil has an odorless component of up to 40%, which makes it a good solvent and is distilled at 150-240 degrees Celsius. White spirit is a clear liquid derived from petroleum. Its boiling point is 65 degrees Celsius. All the above solvents are used to dissolve oil-based paints. However, solvents are recommended according to the product and compatibility with the diluent. If an inappropriate diluent is used, there may be poor gloss, shortened paint life, and even difficulty drying.
The decision to repaint a normal home depends on factors such as the weather conditions around the location, the type of paint to be used, the condition of the previous paint, maintaining the desired look, etc. Given the tropical climate conditions in Indonesia, it is recommended to repaint with good-quality paint every 5-6 years. This is done on exterior and interior wall paints.
There is no special liquid to remove Apex Shyne paint stains from clothes. You can use regular detergent (soaked overnight) and then try brushing repeatedly.
You can remove dust by using a sponge and soapy liquid (such as 5% liquid soap mixed in water). Vacuuming needs to be done for the entire surface. You can clean the surface with a clean cloth, sponge, or use a vacuum cleaner if needed.
Asian Paints painting budget calculations are estimated costs and there will be variations of approximately 20% depending on the city, area, etc.
There is no permanent solution. You can try NC thinner available in the market or any brand of stain remover but there is a possibility of granite losing its shine. Therefore, you need to be careful when removing such stains.
If the condition of the previous paint is still good, i.e. there is no sign of calcification (dust), peeling, etc. then sand using 80/120 number and follow the recommended painting procedure. No need to do POP (Plaster of Paris).
None of our products contain lead. There may be particles in the raw materials used for enameling, but no lead. There is no way to measure the amount of lead in the enamel paint.
The following are the cleaning instructions that can be done:
1) For Tractor Emulsion - Use liquid water mixed with soap (about 5%) or detergent powder and clean with a sponge. Clean the entire chamber to avoid patches.
2) For Apex Shyne - Clean the exterior wall using water only. Do not use high-pressure water when cleaning as it will damage the paint layer.
For new buildings, it is essential to check the alkali level on the surface, if the alkali is more than 12 do not paint. If the alkali level drops to 8-11, then painting can be done as recommended (check Asian Paints website) Make sure there are no leaks, cracks in the wall or react during the rainy season.
Emulsion paints are water-based paints with some added additives to make them more durable, but are usually easily scrubbed off with water and detergent. Enamel is an oil-based paint and is permanent. It can only be removed by using thinner. Use emulsion to cover large areas cheaply and use enamel when you want to change the color (enamel is more expensive than emulsion).
The main causes are lack of painting knowledge and improper preparation of the surface.
The wet film thickness depends on many factors such as the type of coating, painting method (airspray, brush, roller, airless spray, electrostatic, tribo gun, etc.), quality of equipment, operator, surface, shape and size to be painted. Incorrect coating thickness can result in technical problems or additional costs.
Very high wet paint layer thickness can result in:
1) Additional material cost
2) Deterioration - the paint moves downward during the painting process
3) Large cracks - very large cracks
4) Cracking
5) Mud Cracks - the paint dries like mud and there are many irregular cracks
6) Stickiness - stickiness of the paint layer
Priming is the first layer of painting; the first material in painting. It is as good paint adhesion to the surface refers to the durability of the paint, and ensures safety for the surface to be painted. The primer fills the pores on the surface. If the base paint is applied properly, it will increase the life of the paint and will improve the appearance.
PU exterior paint has UV protection, also outdoor wood expands and changes more often than indoor, therefore PU exterior paint is more flexible and less prone to cracking. PU interior paint must be strong with the following characteristics: 1) Anti-scratch 2) Anti-stain 3) Heat Resistance, etc. The above is more found in PU interior paint.
Dark colors are more expensive due to the additional pigments used to find the color. Dark color is another meaning of a lot of pigment.
Must be used within 24 hours.
If you haven't opened the lid of our product, it will last for 3 years from the date of manufacturing. However, if you have opened the lid of the product tin, then we recommend you use the product within the next 24 hours.
Yes, we do provide one. However, we require certain details from you i.e.:
1) Product Name. 2) Shade Name. 3) Shade Code. 4) Base Name. 5) Base Code. 6) Batch No. 7) Quantity. 8) Manufacturing Date. 9) Where it is used (Surface)? 10) What are usage & application conditions, and specifications if any. 11) Project for which it is required. 12) Interior or Exterior Exterior surface. You need to email all the above information, to customercare@asianpaints.com and we will revert to you in the next 24 hours.
The main causes are lack of painting knowledge and improper preparation of the surface.
Dilution errors usually occur when the dilution process is not carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. There is usually a problem of too thin, too thick and dilution with the wrong diluent.
Bubbling in the paint is caused by gas or moisture contained in the paint layer. It looks like bubbles in the paint layer.
Paint bubbling can occur for the following reasons:
1) Moisture in the wall due to leaks and cracks
2) Thickness of paint or putty/plaster, Plaster is too absorbent
3) Applying emulsion on top of the distemper surface.
Prevention of paint bubbling can be done in the following ways:
1) The wall must be free from moisture.
2) Apply paint/putty degnan thinly.
3) Allow the plaster/POP to dry completely
4) Remove distemper paint before using emulsion paint.
Bubbling paint can be repaired by using fine sandpaper and then repainting.
Adhesion failure is when the paint does not adhere to the surface or the previous layer.
The causes of adhesion failure are:
1) Painting on oily or very slippery surfaces.
2) Painting on surfaces with dust or rust
3) Not sanding the previous coat of paint
Prevention can be done by:
1) Ensure proper surface preparation.
2) Use a suitable coating and follow the recommended advice
This depends on the degree of adhesion failure. Cleaning the damaged area is necessary before painting and follow the paint manufacturer's recommendations.
Redness is the remaining slightly opaque paint layer in the coating like the ripeness of wine, resulting in a loss of gloss and making the wall color not sharp.
This is due to the paint layer being exposed to cold air or moisture during the complete drying process. Incorrect casting can also be the cause.
Prevent redness by using the correct paint coating system in good environmental conditions, and following the paint manufacturer's recommendations.
Clean the redness with a suitable cloth and other cleaners. If necessary, apply one coat of polish
Brush marks are defects where there are brush strokes in the dried paint layer.
Brush marks are caused by:
1) The viscosity of the paint material may be too high for brush use.
2) Improper use of thinner.
3) Poor casting or poor painting technique.
4) Paint is not easily spread.
5) Two-pack painting has exceeded its pot-life.
Brush marks can be prevented by:
1) Use good quality brushes and coat the paint with sufficient thickness
2) Dissolve the paint with thinner
3) Use when applying the edge of the surface (pot-life).
4) Use an appropriate brush.
The causes of paint bubbles are:
1) Air trapped in the paint layer and not expelled before the surface is dry.
2) Air ingress during dissolution.
3) Temperature with hot weather when coating.
4) Manufacturing coatings using dipping, electrodeposition or roll painting process
Here are the steps to prevent bubble paint:
1) Adjust the viscosity with thinner and follow the product data sheet for maximum temperature usage with spray.
2) Use the correct tools for mixing and ensure that air is not included during mixing.
3) Apply a very thin coat of paint.
4) Add anti-foam formula to the paint emulsion.
Repairing bubble paint depends on the extent or severity of the bubble itself. Sanding or cleaning the damaged layer and then repainting again.
Chalking is when the paint layer becomes powdery on the surface. The degree of chalking depends on the pigment concentrate and the choice of binder in the paint. Chalking is also known as one of the characteristics of paint, namely floor paint.
Chalking caused by paint damage due to exposure to weather or UV rays.
Clean all powder residue by wiping, scrubbing, washing, or pressure sanding. Clean the surface and apply a paint that is resistant to liming.
Cracking is the breakage of the dried paint layer at least in the first layer, resulting in visible cracks that can lead to the surface. Cracks take several forms, from small cracks to severe cracks.
The cause of paint layer cracks can also be due to surface displacement, age, moisture absorption or release and inflexible coatings. The thicker the paint layer, the more likely it is to crack.
Prevent cracks by using the correct coating system, painting technique and proper film thickness. Alternatively, apply a more flexible paint coating system.
Repair cracking by using sandpaper to remove existing cracks. Re-coat in the correct way, or use a coating that is more flexible and resistant to cracking.
Paint efflorescence is a white powder on the surface of concrete, brick, plaster and rock. It can lift paint from the surface because it contains salt.
Paint efflorescence is caused by the presence of salts on the surface, moisture causes the salts to come to the surface and cause a failure of the coating's adhesion.
Make sure the surface is not damp, clean, and suitable for the coating system. Remove the source of moisture.
Similar to efflorescence, peeling is more of a soft and pliable layer, which can be instantly pulled or spontaneously fall off the surface or from between layers due to loss of adhesion.
Paint peeling is a reduction in the bonding strength of the paint due to contamination or coating incompatibility.
You can repair the peeling paint by cleaning the soft and pliable parts up to the hard parts, or completely repainting. Sand, clean and coat with a suitable coating system according to the recommended procedure.
Paint tackiness is a condition where there are parts of the paint that are sticky to the coating. Even after passing the wet stage, the paint layer remains sticky and soft, and sometimes it can only be noticed by touching the paint layer.
There are several reasons why paints remain tacky: 1) Paint is too thick 2) Paint is too thin; 3) Wrong formula for complete dry walling; 4) Air temperature is too low; 5) Coating after pot life or shelf life.
You can prevent paint tackiness in the following ways: 1) Using a paint coating that matches the specifications 2) Ensure that the material is well mixed. 3) Follow the recommendations of your paint supplier.
To repair paint tackiness; sand the damaged paint layer, then clean and re-coat.
It is not recommended to apply primer and leave it for a few days (no more than 10-12 days). If this is done, the putty/plaster will become powdery and lose the adhesion of the paint layer. Therefore, we recommend covering the primer with wall paint as soon as possible; after the primer has dried. If putty/plaster has been applied first, you can apply primer and one coat of wall paint and wait for 2 months. Then sand smooth and apply 2-3 coats of wall paint.
The old paint layer should be peeled off first and then recoated with an exterior primer. If primer is not applied and the old paint layer is cement paint, the possibility of peeling in the wall area is very high.
Yes, application by spray is better than by roll, but airflow and application skills are crucial. You must wear a mask, choose the right equipment, and use an experienced applicator to get the most out of your paint finish.
We do not have a process for disposing of used paint cans. Usually, they are given to waste collectors and will be resold to recycled plastic agencies.
The following is how to calculate the amount of paint required.
Amount of paint required = Total surface area (sqm) x Number of layers/area of paint cover (sqm per liter).
You can use exterior primer followed by the application of water-based exterior wall paint. You must check the adhesion of the gypsum floor after laying.
