Asian Paints in Indonesia

Asian Paints Indonesia is part of the Asian Paints Group, which ranks among the top 10 decorative coating companies in the world. Asian Paints started operating in Indonesia in 2016. The Asian Paint factory has advanced technology located in the Suryacipta industrial area, Karawang. With a capacity of 25,000 tons/year, this is the largest factory owned by Asian Paints in Southeast Asia. 95% of Asian Paints products are made locally, with world-class quality control parameters to ensure the best product for its customer every time.

At Asian Paints Indonesia, technology and innovation are important and major factors in the manufacture of all of our products. We have conducted consumer/market research on the use and method of applying paints in Indonesia, combined with worldwide technical knowledge. We also have products of world quality and suitable for local paint application needs.

Asian Paints in Indonesia comes with 2 subsidiaries with names PT Asian Paints Indonesia and PT Asian Paints Color Indonesia.

International Presence Group

Currently, the Asian Paints group is present in 15 countries around the world and is the largest paint company in eleven countries. This group is present in five regions such as Asia, the Middle East, South Pacific, Africa, and the Caribbean with five corporate brands such as Asian Paints, Asian Paints Berger, SCIB Paints, APCO Coatings, Taubmans and Kadisco. This group is divided into:

Asian Paints: India, Bangladesh, Nepal Sri Lanka, and Indonesia (Asia)

SCIB Paints: Egypt (Middle East)

Asian Paints Berger: UAE, Bahrain, and Oman (Middle East)

Apco Coatings: Fiji, Tonga, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu (South Pacific)

Kadisco Asian Paints: Ethiopia (Africa)

Taubmans: Fiji and Samoa (South Pacific)

The company has its own Group R&D Center in India for paints and has been one of the pioneer companies in India for effective IT solutions to maximize work efficiency.

Research and Development

Research and development play an important role in developing the organization. We continuously invest in research and development and impact across our entire portfolio of decorative coatings for the Indian and foreign markets. Our technologists don't just develop new products and improve existing formulas but serve as a pillar for other functions such as:

- Supporting manufacturers in the process of reducing production time and increasing productivity through alternative/breakthrough processes.

- Providing solutions to environmental problems by minimizing waste during production and in the recycling process.

- Assist marketing by providing technical equipment/USP for demonstrations and introducing new products.

- Provide new base materials as alternatives to current materials to provide negotiating power and change vendors for distribution flexibility.

Asian Paints Berger

Asian Paints Berger has a strong manufacturing base in the Middle East region, with dedicated factories in Dubai, Sohar, and Bahrain. All of these units operate automatically to produce products in the Middle East Region. These units are equipped with an aseptic processing area, a computerized formulation system to produce good color calibration, an R&D center with paint incubation technology, and a storage warehouse to respond quickly to each order.

Apco Coatings

Apco Coatings is a subsidiary of Asian Paints in the South Pacific islands. Asian Paints operates in Fiji, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu under the brand name of Apco Coatings.

SCIB Paints

Founded in 1979, SCIB Paints is today a reputed name and ranks amongst the top five paint companies in Egypt. SCIB Paints became a part of the Asian Paints group in August 2002.

PPG Asian Paints

PPG Asian Paints, (earlier known as Asian PPG Industries Pvt Ltd.), established in March 1997, is a 50:50 joint venture between Asian Paints Limited and PPG Industries, Inc., USA. It was formed with the objective of providing solutions to the paint requirements of Indian automobile manufacturers. The joint venture brought together two leading companies with strengths in technology, manufacturing, and customer insight.

Asian Paints PPG

Asian Paints PPG (AP PPG), the second 50:50 joint venture with PPG Industries, Inc., USA was formed in 2012. This joint venture caters to the market for protective coatings, floor coatings, road marking paints, and powder coatings.

Taubmans

Taubmans Paints Fiji, the fourth largest paint company in Fiji, became a part of the Asian Paints family in September 2003. Taubmans Paints is the dominant player in the project sales segment in the country and is a leader in the neighboring Samoa Islands. It has two manufacturing facilities, one in Suva (Fiji) and the other in Samoa

Kadisco

In February 2015, Kadisco, one of the leading paint companies in Ethiopia became part of the Asian Paints group. Kadisco is engaged in the manufacture and sales of decorative paints, industrial paints, automotive paints, other coatings, and adhesives in Ethiopia.

Sleek

Asian Paints with its intent to enter the Home Improvement and Décor space in India had acquired a 51% stake in Sleek Group, a kitchen solutions provider in August 2013. Sleek is a major player in the organized modern kitchen space and is engaged in the business of manufacturing, selling, and distributing modular kitchens as well as kitchen components including wire baskets, cabinets, appliances, accessories, etc. Recently, the company launched the ‘Smart Kitchen’ range for easy installation and design under the Sleek brand. Sleek has also introduced wardrobes in its portfolio since FY17. In December 2017, Asian Paints acquired a balance of 49% in sleek from its erstwhile promoters. Sleek is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company.
